About Me

My name is Josh Alexander and I have started this blog for two reasons: 1) To draw awareness to all of the unjust actions that are being taken against wolves in the United States 2) To hopefully educate the willing on the true nature of these great animals.  Let’s start with a little background information about myself shall we?  I have lived in Orange County California my entire life and have been a huge fan of the outdoors from as early as I can remember.  Every year my family and I would go on a summer camping vacation.  Out of all of the wonderful places I went in my early years, I think Yosemite stands out in my mind most vividly.  There is something about being surround by giant granite mountains that puts everything in the world into perspective and makes me realize how small I really am.  It’s always a humbling experience when I go there and wish I could visit more often.  I am actually getting a little stir crazy right now just thinking of it, which happens often when I’m stuck in a overly populated and polluted city.  The great explorer John Muir once said, “The mountains are calling, I must go”  not a day goes by where I wish I could just live those words he spoke.  Anyway, back on track, around my freshman year in college I started getting into photography as a hobby and purchased my first SLR.  I remember the first trip I took with a camera was to Canada’s Rocky Mountains.  I had never seen anything so tall in my life,  when I got home from that trip and started looking at my pictures, I knew that this was something I would be doing the rest of my life.  After doing some research on the nature and landscape photography industry I came the the conclusion that unless I new a lot of people high up in the industry and unless I could take pictures good enough to be in the top 1% of photographs it would be pretty hard to make in as a nature or landscape photographer.  After that realization I decided to try a different approach with wedding photography.  I dabbled in that for a few years made some money but realized that I didn’t have enough passion for photographing people to actually make it into a career, even if the money was good.  So that leads to what I am now currently doing which dedicated my free time to finding ways to better preserve our countries wildlife, specifically wolves in America.  After seeing my first wild wolf in Yellowstone while on vacation with my soon to be wife, Kelly, I knew that I wanted to try and find ways to help the species regain the land that was previously theirs until men hunted them into extinction in much of the US.  In the following months and hopefully years I will be using this page as a centralized place for information on what is happening nation wide with the wolf pollution in the US.  I will also be providing information on any political and legal action you as a reader can do to make a difference in the smooth reintroduction of wolves in America.  I hope after reading this blog you will be able to understand how much these wolves mean to our ecosystem and the survival of not only our national parks but our way of life.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and if nothing else I hope you will be able to open your mind to the possibility that the big bad wolf we have all been told is out to get us is really not that bad!

  4. HoooOOOOOOOWWWWWWwwwwwLLLLLLloooooooooooo!! Greetings from the Icewolves of Europa…calling the song of moon wolves across the icy seas of Europa 🙂 Great blog, it is my pleasure to be here, and thank you for your visit…you are always very welcome anytime you should feel to pad through. Totally agree the “big bad wolf is really not that bad!” Wolves are actually very timid around humans…as you personally undoubtedly already know…after all man/womon has a nasty habit of shooting wolves do they not?!! That’s a beautiful header you have too 🙂

  5. I have nominated you for the Versatile Blog Award. You can read more about it on my post, which will go live tomorrow morning.
